The Stratas C3 solution was designed to help multi-site retailers digitise business critical documentation, for quicker; less costly and more secure distribution to centralised Head Office functions.
The first iteration of the solution made use of the traditional method for scanning documents into workflow, where barcoded header sheets are used to identify and route the information to the correct department.
Most businesses are awash with physical documentation. Information assets which they have little access to or knowledge of its content.
Fewer businesses have the budget to back scan all these documents, in order to harness the knowledge they contain and realise business value from these information assets.
Gartner found that 80% of all corporate data is unstructured and will grow by 800% in the next five years*, meaning the bulk of a company’s information backbone is not easily accessed, understood or utilised.
The majority of this data is deemed ROT (“Redundant, Obsolete or Trivial”) and the cost of managing and storing this information is considerable. This “dark data” also represents a source of risk to the business, for the contents of these documents remains largely unknown.
We don’t usually focus our discussions on “product”, but we thought this piece of news was worth sharing.
Toshiba has released the world’s first multifunctional device which uses erasable toner enabling a business to reuse its paper and save up 80% of valuable resources.
Paper is created from water and wood—which are limited natural resources.
Reducing paper use eases the burden on the environment and helps reduce the effects of global climate change.
Stratas has joined forces with Gartner’s industry leader, Xerox, to help customers gain visibility and control of printing, whilst improving security, sustainability and productivity.
Companies have more paper and digital files than ever before and the incorporation of the Xerox products and services into the Stratas Data Forge platform will help them organise content, cut costs, streamline processes and print less.
We live in an age of information. It is everywhere. Physical and electronic, it can exist and be stored in a plethora of locations and in dozens of forms. Structured and unstructured. Business critical. Financial. Legal. Human Resources. Each governed by their own compliance and regulatory statutes.
The storage of physical and electronic stores is often akin the proverbial home loft or attic. However, unlike one’s home, it is all too easy to simply increase the space – physical or virtual - to accommodate more data.
